Introduction

Professor Ching-Chang Wong, Associate Professor Shi-An Li, and Assistant Professor Chih-cheng liu from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering guided a robotics development team consisting of 27 students to participate in the "2022 FIRA (Federation of International Robosports Association) SimulCup" and the "2022 International Intelligent Robot Sports Competition" held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan from August 18 to 21, 2022. The team achieved outstanding results, winning 15 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze medals, and 1 honorable mention.

This year, they once again won the All Round World Championship, marking the 12th time they have achieved this since the competition began.

Professor Ching-Chang Wong and Professor Chi-Yi Tsai from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering led a robotics research team to participate in the "2022 HIWIN Intelligent Robot Arm Practical Competition" held in Taipei from August 25 to 27, 2022, where they won third place in the "Intelligent Creation" category.

Professor Chien-Hsing Chou from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering guided students to participate in the "2022 National College and University Intelligent Innovation and Cross-Disciplinary Integration Creation Competition" on December 16, 2022. Their project, titled "Application of AI in Teaching Taiwanese Opera Singing and Movements," won third place in the Intelligent Machinery category.

Professor Chien-Hsing Chou guided student collaborated with students from YunTech to participate in the "2022 National College and University Intelligent Innovation and Cross-Disciplinary Integration Creation Competition" on December 16, 2022. Their project, titled "Easter Egg for Visually Impaired Children," won third place in the Somatosensory Interactive Technology category.

Professor Chien-Hsing Chou guided students to participate in the "19th Yu-Xiu Cup Creative Awards" on April 15, 2022, where they won third place and an honorable mention in the Software Application category.

Professor Chun-Fei Hsu and Assistant Professor Jian-Feng Wu from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering guided student to participate in the "30th Fuzzy Theory and Its Applications Conference of the Republic of China" on November 5, 2022, where they presented a paper titled "Decoupled Fuzzy Sliding Mode Control Applied to Control Torque Gyro-Actuated Inverted Pendulum System," winning second place in the Best Paper Competition nationwide.

Associate Professor Yu-Jen Chi, guided the team from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering won a gold medal at the "2022 Taiwan Innovation Technology Expo Invention Competition" co-organized by the Executive Yuan's inter-ministerial committee and Academia Sinica on October 13, 2022.
